AC Milan completes contract extension with midfielder Rade Krunić..



AC Milan announced on its official website on Thursday that the club has completed a contract extension with Bosnia and Herzegovina international midfielder Rade Krunić.


According to AC Milan's official statement, Krunić has signed on another one-year short-term contract with the club, his new contract will expire in the summer of 2025, which also means that he will continue to play for the Rossoneri for three more years.


After completing the contract renewal procedures, Krunić said he was very happy and proud to be able to renew his contract with the club and continue to play for AC Milan.


Krunić added that he will, as always, do his best to continue helping the team, and thank the fans for their enthusiastic support.


The 28-year-old Krunić was born on October 7, 1993 in Foča, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is 1.84 meters tall and plays as a midfielder. Krunić joined the youth academy of his hometown club Sutjeska Foča in 2006, and made his first-team debut in November 2011, where he also scored his first ever first-team goal in the same game.


Krunić joined Serbian side Donji Srem in January 2013. He was signed by Gerais Verona the following summer, but he did not actually play for the latter but was loaned back to Donji Srem.


With his good performance iat Donji Srem, Krunić was signed by another Serbian SuperLiga club Borac Čačak in January 2014, and Krunić immediately continued his good performance by successfully helping the club escape relegation.


In the summer of 2015, Krunić joined Empoli as a free agent. After joining Empoli, Krunić was often praised by the local Italian media for his consistent scoring efficiency, during which he helped the club win the Serie B once.


Krunić joined AC Milan for €8million in early July 2019. After coming to San Siro, Krunić mostly played as a defensive midfielder under the meritorious head coach Stefano Pioli.


So far, Krunić has played 92 times for AC Milan in all competitions, scoring 2 goals and providing 5 assists. Last season, he played 35 times for the club in all competitions, assisted once, and won the Serie A with the team.


At the international level, Krunić has been playing for the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team since June 2016. So far, he has played 27 times for Bosnia and Herzegovina in various competitions, scoring 2 goals.


It is worth mentioning that Krunić, who is currently out due to injury, has been pursued by Schalke 04 since last year.


Not long ago, some Italian media revealed that Schalke 04 made an offer of 8 million euros to AC Milan for Krunić, but the Bundesliga side's offer was immediately rejected by the Rossoneri.
