Usai Gagal di Piala Presiden, Borneo FC Langsung Fokus ke Liga 1

Borneo FC has had to fight back in the Liga 1 competition

JAKARTA -- Borneo FC immediately focused on preparing for the 12022/2023 League competition and didn't want to dwell too much on the failure to become a champion in the 2022 Presidential Cup.

Borneo FC manager Dandri Dauri, via the club's official website, Tuesday (18/7), said Pesut Etam was immediately focused on navigating a tight competition season.

"My management and I have met the players and asked them not to think about the final result of the President's Cup. Because now the real challenge lies ahead, namely the tougher Liga 1 competition," said Dandri.

As is known, Borneo FC's hopes of winning the 2022 President's Cup were dashed after being defeated again by Arema FC in the final, and had to settle for appearing as the "runner up".

A week after the final, Borneo FC had to fight back in the League 1 competition so they had to quickly forget about their failure in the President's Cup.

Moreover, Borneo FC in the inaugural League 1 match will directly face Arema FC, the team that failed to win the pre-season tournament.

The match between the two teams is scheduled to take place at the Segiri Stadium, Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Sunday (24/7) evening.

Dandri explained that if Borneo FC in the pre-season tournament only met two final matches, in the competition each match was a final.

Because, he said, full points must continue to be obtained to realize the mission to be at the top at the end of the season.

Moreover, Dandi reminded that Borneo FC will meet tough opponents at the start of the competition, especially when they become the host.

From the schedule released by PT LIB, Borneo FC will host Persib Bandung and Persebaya at home, after hosting Arema FC.

However, Borneo FC previously will also play away games first, namely to the headquarters of Barito Putera and Persik Kediri.

"That's why I say every match becomes a final. Because we meet opponents who are really ready to compete," said Dandri.
