Arsenal welcomed the signing of Brighton star Leandro Trossard after missing out on Mykaylo Mudryk..

Arsenal announced on their official website on Friday that the club had signed Belgium international winger Leandro Trossard from Brighton.

According to Arsenal's official statement, Trossard has signed on a long-term four-and-a-half-year-deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2027. At the same time, he will also wear the No. 19 jersey vacated by Côte d'Ivoire international star Nicola Pépé who left to join Nice on-loan last summer.

After completing his joining procedures, Trossard, who was interviewed by Arsenal's official website for the first time said: "I am very happy to join Arsenal. I can't wait to get started. Obviously this is a very large club. I'm ready to show the fans what I'm capable of."

"As you've all seen, I think it's obvious how good the club has been in the first half of the season, and I'm here to help everyone achieve all the goals together, so it's a very exciting moment to join the club."

The 28-year-old Trossard was born on December 4, 1994 in Maasmechelen, Belgium. He is 1.71 meters tall and primarily plays as a left winger, but he can also be deployed as an attacking midfielder or an auxiliary center forward. Trossard joined the Genk youth academy when he was a child, and then completed his first-team debut in mid-May 2012.

In the 8 years he played for Genk, Trossard won 1 Jupiler Pro League and 1 Belgian Cup with the club, and also played for Lommel, Westerlo, OH Leuven and other clubs on-loan.

Trossard joined Brighton in the summer of 2019. For many years, Trossard has always been Brighton's main player, and was once pursued by cross-town rivals Chelsea.

Trossard began to be left out in the cold early this month after he left the training session privately and had a complete falling out with Brighton's head coach Roberto De Zerbi.

Prior to that, Trossard had played 17 times in all competitions for the super dark "bird" Brighton who was flying high in the Premier League this season, scoring 7 goals and assisting 3 times.

With the arrival of Trossard, it also means that Arsenal have finally overcome the loss of missing out of Shakhtar Donetsk's Ukrainian international wonderkid Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The Ukrainian Premier League star, who has performed amazingly in the Champions League since last summer, was poached by Chelsea on the premise of being pursued by the Gunners for a long time, which made many fans sad.

The Shakhtar Donetsk youth graduate were spotted publicly speaking of his desire to join the Premier League leaders many times last year.
