Barcelona and Atletico reach an agreement, Griezmann buyout fee of 20 million

According to several Spanish media reports, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have reached an agreement on the buyout of Griezmann. According to Mundo Deportivo, because Griezmann wanted to stay at Atletico Madrid very much, this accelerated the negotiation process between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, and all three parties did their best to reach an agreement.

Atletico Madrid sold Griezmann to Barcelona in 2019 for a transfer fee of up to 120 million. In the two seasons after joining Barcelona, Griezmann played 102 games for Barcelona, scoring 35 goals and providing 17 assists.

Because the performance failed to meet expectations, Barcelona and last summer loaned Griezmann back to Atletico Madrid. Barcelona and Atletico have signed a two-year loan agreement with a buyout clause of 40 million euros. Atletico Madrid have often used Griezmann as a substitute after the 60th minute in order to avoid triggering a buyout agreement this season.

Now, according to "Marca", "Daily Sport" and Catalan TV confirmed that Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement on the transfer of Griezmann. Griezmann has officially become an Atletico Madrid player on a contract until 2026 . His buyout fee was reduced from 40 million to 20 million , with an additional 2-4 million floating clause. In addition, "World Sports Daily" revealed that Griezmann's annual salary has dropped to 6-7 million euros.
