Bayern Munich announced on its official website on Saturday that the club's Croatian international wonderkid right-back Josip Stanišić has signed a new contract.

According to an official statement from Bayern Munich, Stanišić has signed a three-year long-term contract with the club, which will expire in the summer of 2025.

After completing the renewal procedures, Stanišić said in an interview with Bayern's official website: "This renewal is a good vote of confidence that Bayern has put on me. I want to reward the club with my excellent performances. It was a big boost for me to develop further. As someone who was born in Munich, it was my dream to wear this jersey. My goal is to win as many titles as possible with Bayern.”

Regarding the renewal of Stanišić's contract, Hasan Salihamidžić, Director of Football at Bayern Munich, also added: "Josip Stanišić has established himself in our first team for the past two years. Also thanks to our academy, because Josip came through our academy. He's versatile in the position he plays for, and he's great when the team needs him. His reliability helps both our coach and the team. I'm glad we can work with him on a long-term plan."

The 22-year-old Stanišić was born on April 2, 2000 in Munich, Germany. He is 1.87 meters tall and has Croatian descent. Stanišić is primarily a right-back, but can also play as a centre-back.

Stanišić started representing Bayern II in the 3. Liga in the summer of 2019 and made his first-team debut in April 2021. Since last season, Stanišić has gradually eastablished himself in the first team.
