Chelsea Ready to Bite Fingers, Matthijs De Ligt Closes to Bayern Munich

Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has spoken to Juventus.

LONDON - The agent of Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt has reportedly stopped talks with a number of clubs including Chelsea. He "forced" his client to join the German Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich this summer.

The 22-year-old's future with Juventus is uncertain. Chelsea have identified De Ligt as one of the main targets for the defensive posts left by Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.

However, the Blues face stiff competition from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich. The Bild report, quoted by Sportsmole , Friday (8/7/2022), said that Bayern's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic had had a three-hour conversation with Juventus director Federico Cherubini regarding the transfer of De Ligt.

The source added that De Ligt's representatives have now suspended talks with Chelsea and the rest of the team given Bayern agreed a £64m deal to land the Dutch defender.

De Ligt is claimed to want to move to Bayern with the player liking the playing style of Julian Nagelsmann's team when compared to other interested clubs.

The player who dropped out of the Ajax Amsterdam academy already has 38 caps with the Dutch national team. His contract with the Bianconeri actually ends in 2024. His appearance with Juve reached 117 by winning the Italian League title, as well as the Coppa Italia.

Practically with De Ligt going to the Allianz Arena Stadium. Chelsea immediately averted their eyes by bringing in another central defender. The latest rumors are the Blues are interested in Manchester City defender Nathan Ake and also Sevilla's Jules Kunde.
