Chelsea wonderkid Callum Hudson-Odoi joins Bayer Leverkusen on a season-long loan..

Bayer Leverkusen announced on its official website last night that the club has signed England international winger Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea.

According to Leverkusen's official statement, Hudson-Odoi will join the club on a season-long loan without an option to buy. He will be wearing the vacated no.17 shirt after Finland international center-forward Joel Pohjanpalo  has left the club.

After completing the joining procedures, Hudson-Odoi said that Bayer Leverkusen's project was the main attraction that have led him to join the club, and he can't wait to enjoy the pleasure of playing consistently on the pitch in front of the fans again.

Hudson-Odoi, 21, was born on November 7, 2000 in Wandersworth, London, England. He is 1.78 meters tall and mainly plays as a winger, but he can also serve as an attacking midfielder or wingback. Hudson-Odoi has dual citizenship of England and Ghana, and his father and brother were also professional footballers.

Hudson-Odoi joined Chelsea's youth system at the age of 6 and led the U18s to win the FA Youth Cup during this period. At the end of 2017, Hudson-Odoi began to be promoted to the first team and made his first team debut in the Premier League in January of the following year.

Since the beginning of the 2018/19 season, Hudson-Odoi has begun to show his extraordinary talent. During the season, he began to assist again and again, and he also showed his superb in the Europa League. Since then, he has been regarded as one of Chelsea's most high-profile demon stars, and he also made his England senior national team debut in the EURO 2020 qualifying campaign with such excellent performances.

Although Hudson-Odoi has helped the club win the Champions League, Europa League, European Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup over the years, he has never been able to win over the absolute trust of Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel after Maurizio Sarri has left the club.

Last season, Hudson-Odoi made 28 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, scoring 3 goals and providing 6 assists, but most of them came off the bench.

It is worth mentioning that Hudson-Odoi has been fiercely pursued by Bayern Munich over the years, but because the Blues have always refused to let him go, the wonderkid with African descent has not been able to show his talents to a wider audience on another competitive stage.

With Bayer Leverkusen currently facing serious injuries and absences from Karim Bellarabi, Amine Adli and Florian Wirtz, the arrival of Hudson-Odoi can not only alleviate these problems, but it also meant that he finally got his wish to showcase his talents in Bundesliga.
