City, West Ham, Sheffield and Brighton to Round 5 of the FA Cup

Manchester City beat Cheltenham Town 3-1.

JAKARTA - English Premier League teams, namely Manchester City, West Ham United, Sheffield United and Brighton & Hove Albion qualified for the fifth round of the FA Cup. They won victory over their respective opponents in a series of fourth round matches which took place Saturday (23/1) night to Sunday (24/1) in the morning WIB.


West Ham, who hosted Doncaster Rovers at the London Olympic Stadium, recorded a 4-0 victory over the third-tier team, according to the FA's official safe record. Pablo Fornals opened West Ham's lead just two minutes after an early kick which was followed by Andriy Yarmolenko in the 32nd minute to make it 2-0 at halftime.

Eight minutes into the second half West Ham's lead increased after Andy Butler scored an own goal in the home's corner.




Then West Ham's U-21 attacker, Oladapo Afolayan, completed the Hammers '4-0 victory through his first goal at senior level by grabbing the ball vomited from Ryan Fredericks' shot in the 78th minute.

In the fifth round, West Ham will await the winner of the other fourth round match between Manchester United and Liverpool which just took place on Monday (25/1) WIB.

Meanwhile Sheffield United was able to pass another third-tier team, Plymouth Argyle, after a narrow 2-1 win at Bramall Lane.
