Dramatic, Inter Get rid of AC Milan from the Coppa Italia

Inter beat Milan 2-1 through Christian Eriksen's goal in the seventh minute of injury time.

JAKARTA - Inter Milan won a dramatic victory over AC Milan in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals. Inter beat Milan 2-1 through Christian Eriksen's goal in the seventh minute of injury time in the match at San Siro, Milan, Wednesday (27/1) early morning WIB.

Previously, Milan took the lead in the 31st minute in the first half through Zlatan Ibrahimovic. However, Milan's mainstay striker received a second yellow card and had to leave the field early in the second half.

Inter leveled the score with a Romelu Lukaku penalty in the 71st minute. The Nerazzurri finally secured the win through Eriksen as the match looked set to continue into extra time.

This victory led Inter to the Coppa Italia semifinals. Antonio Conte's team will meet the winners of the Juventus vs SPAL match.

The course of the fight

Milan tried to take the initiative to attack first by kicking wide Rafael Leao. Rossonerri got the next opportunity with a header that was not on target from Ibrahimovic.

Simon Kjaer's injury caused him to be pulled off the field to be replaced by Fikayo Tomori in the 20th minute. It was the first appearance for the player who was brought in from Chelsea.

Inter threatened back through Romelu Lukaku who received a through ball from Matteo Darmian. He then outwitted Alessio Romagnoli to fire a shot which goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu could still save.

Milan then broke the deadlock when Ibrahimovic controlled the ball on the edge of the box and then fired a shot over Aleksandar Kolarov's legs, to bounce and into the net that Samir Handanovic was guarding.

Alexis Sanchez sends an accurate header after receiving Ivan Perisic's cross. But the ball was still held by Theo Hernandez before crossing the goal line, and then kept away by Tomori. Marcelo Brozovic's volley soared near the post was his last chance before halftime.

The end of the first half was tainted a bit by Ibrahimovic's feud with Lukaku, which made the two of them have to be separated by their teammates. As a result of this dispute, Ibra was rewarded with a yellow card, which later turned out to be the beginning of the Milan disaster.

Inter coach Antonio Conte brought on Achraf Hakimi in the second half. He immediately made an impact by sending feedback to greet Alexis Sanchez's volley. But the ball was held by goalkeeper Tatarusanu, substitute Gianluigi Donnarumma, between the posts who was suspended.
