Eduardo Almeida doesn't want Arema to relax against PSIS Semarang
2022-07-14 14:02MALANG -- Arema Indonesia will host PSIS Semarang in the second leg of the 2022 Presidential Cup semifinal at Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, East Java, Monday (11/7). One step Singo Edan is already in the final after winning 2-0 in the first leg.
Arema FC coach Eduardo Almeida does not want his troops to relax against PSIS just because they are 2-0 up on aggregate. For Almeida tomorrow's match is an important match because he believes Mahesa Jenar's team is determined to turn things around.
"But we have to be ready. We have to think that starting the game the position is still 0-0. And of course the target is to win for tomorrow," he said at a press conference ahead of the match, Sunday (10/7).
When asked whether Almeida will apply defensive play. He replied that the game would be adapted to the needs. He also explained that player rotation will be carried out if needed on match days.
Arema FC midfielder Rizy Dwi Febrianto added that the victory obtained in the first leg will not satisfy his colleagues. His team will consider tomorrow's match as in a 0-0 position so that both teams are equally big to qualify for the final.
"We have to maximize playing at home tomorrow," said Rizky.
PSIS will play without its mainstay striker Carlos Fortes who suffered a hamstring injury in the first leg. However, Rizky will still play according to the character of the team even if the opponent is without Fortes. He confirmed Arema will focus on qualifying for the final.
Rizky also doesn't mind the weather because he plays at night. According to him as a player must be ready to play in any weather conditions. It's just that playing at night is not as hot as playing during the day.
