English midfieder Solly March completes contract extension with Brighton & Hove Albion..

Brighton announced on their official website on Friday that the club has extended the contract of English midfielder Solly March.

According to Brighton's official statement, March has signed on a new long-term three-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2026, with an option to extend for a further year.

Upon March's contract extension, Brighton head coach Roberto De Zerbi said in an interview with the club's official website: "This is a great news. He deserves this new contract. We are happy for him. I'm happy for him because he's my player and I want great players to stay with me."

"If you want to hold on to a team that is going forward, then we have to lock in their future starting with the big players, (Adam) Lallana, (Alexis) McAllister, (Moises) Caicedo and (Solly) March, they are very important players for us and I am really happy for them and for me."

"I gave him confidence, maybe a different way of playing, another possibility to score more goals, but Solly was and is a great player and I already knew that before I started working here."

The 28-year-old March was born in Eastbourne, England on July 20, 1994. He is 1.8 meters tall and can play any position in the midfield. March played for the Crystal Palace youth academy as a child, but was released in 2009. After that, he returned to play at his hometown club Eastbourne Borough's youth academy, and then moved to the Lewes youth academy a year later.

In September 2011, March, who was only 17 years old at the time, completed his Lewes first-team debut and was poached by Brighton due to his outstanding performance.

March completed his Brighton first-team debut in July 2013. Since then, he has played only 250 times for Brighton in the Premier League and became one of the Seagull's club legend.

So far this season, March has played 29 times for the Premier League super dark horse across all competitions, scoring 7 goals and assisting 5 times.
