Everton loan Ruben Vinagre from Sporting Lisbon
2022-07-29 08:42JAKARTA -- Everton have signed wing-back Ruben Vinagre from Portuguese League club Sporting Lisbon on loan this summer. Everton loaned the Portuguese player for a season with a permanent option at the end of the season in a fee of IDR 324 billion.
Vinagre explained that playing for Everton was a dream come true as he now has the opportunity to play alongside very good players under a coach as great as Frank Lampard.
"The coach is a football legend. Everyone knows him and the opportunity to work with him and learn from him and the likes of Ashley Cole, one of the best left-backs in football, is huge for me," Vinagre said. 28/7/2022). "I will give everything for my team-mates. I always want to win because it's the only way. That's the reason I came to Everton, to win."
Everton coach Frank Lampard admitted he was looking forward to working with Vinagre and acknowledged the quality of the former Wolves player. "He's a player with Premier League experience who will add quality and depth to our squad. Ruben leaves us with more options," said Lampard.
The player whose full name is Ruben Goncalo Silva Nascimento Vinagre becomes Everton's second signing of the summer after James Tarkowski. Vinagre played in the Premier League for five seasons and was loaned out to several clubs such as Olympiacos and Familicao until he was made permanent by Sporting Lisbon in June 2022.
