Frank Lampard to be sacked by Chelsea and replaced by Tuchel

Frank Lampard is set to be sacked by Chelsea after his 3-1 win over Luton Town in the FA Cup.

Less than 24 hours after Chelsea's victory over Luton Town, Frank Lampardis is set to be sacked by Chelsea , replaced by former Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel.

Chelsea's players had been informed that their training was delayed on Monday morning, they did not need to report to the training ground until afternoon.

Lampard was called in to meet with Chelsea board members and has been informed of the news. This comes just over 18 months after he took charge of Chelsea.

Former Paris Saint-Germain manager Tuchel will replace Lampard as the manager of Chelsea. Before the news of Lampard's departure became public, a verbal agreement had been reached between Chelsea and their new manager.

Lampard had hoped to be given time to turn around Chelsea's poor form in the Premier League, and Chelsea also managed to advance to the next round with a 3-1 win over Luton in yesterday's FA Cup fourth round tie.

However Chelsea's owner Roman Abramovich still decided to sack Lampard to save Chelsea's hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

Tuchel’s arrival was clearly aimed at trying to bring the two German players who joined Chelsea during the summer transfer - Timo Werner and Kai Havertz to perform at their best.
