Galtier confirms Messi will return to Paris Saint-Germain in early January

According to Paris Saint-Germain coach Galtier, the legendary Argentine star Lionel Messi will return to the team for training in early January.

Messi is enjoying a holiday in Rosario after winning the World Cup for Argentina. Galtier revealed: "Messi had a great World Cup. After Argentina won the championship and the celebrations after that, we decided to let him rest until January 1."

"He will join us on January 2 or 3," Galtier added.

According to another TyC Sports report, Messi is expected to play in Paris Saint-Germain's home game against Angers on January 11, which also means that he will miss the two games against Strasbourg and Lens in Ligue 1, and the French Cup against Chateaux.

On the status of Mbappe, Neymar and Hakimi

Although Messi will miss consecutive games, Mbappe, Neymar and Hakimi are expected to return to the game. Before the game against Strasbourg, Galtier said: "Achraf (Hakimi) wants to come back as soon as possible. Similar to Kylian (Mbappe), he has performed well in every game. Talk to us After that, Hakimi and Killian decided to return to the team as soon as possible."

Galtier is also encouraged by Neymar's recovery and mental state-the former injured his right ankle in the World Cup opener and was found to return to team training on the 22nd.

"We looked at his injury and we saw his swollen ankle, but he played the last two games of the World Cup," Galtier said. "We gave him 12 days off and let him use these days to receive treatment with the medical team. When he returned to training on the 22nd, he was training well and his ankle injury was healing. He is mentally looking forward to returning to the game, so all is well."
