Gianluca Scamacca can't wait to play with West Ham
2022-07-29 09:06JAKARTA – Striker Gianluca Scamacca says he can't wait to play for his new Premier League club, West Ham United. He was brought in in the summer 2022 transfer market.
"I can't wait to play and show the fans what I can do in a West Ham shirt, I hope we will love each other," said Scamacca, quoted from the club's official website, Thursday (28/7/2022).
The Italian explained that he was very happy to be joining West Ham and had been looking forward to this moment because Scamacaa had a dream to play in the Premier League.
"I felt this was the perfect team for me. They really showed they wanted me and when I spoke to the coach there was an instant understanding," explained Scamacca.
West Ham coach David Moyes said the arrival of Scamacca was one of his club's targets in this summer's transfer window to sharpen the Hammers' attack.
"He has come highly recommended, and we are looking forward to working with him. He is a young centre-forward with a very bright future ahead of him," Moyes explained.
West Ham are believed to have reached an agreement with Sassuolo over a transfer fee for Scamacca which will reach 35.5 million pounds or around Rp 639 billion with a breakdown of 30.5 million up front and another 5 million in addition. West Ham took an interest in the 23-year-old following Scamacca's promising form for Sassuolo last season, scoring 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances.
Scamacaa becomes West Ham's fourth signing of the summer transfer window after previously landing defender Nayef Aguerd from Rennes, making goalkeeper Alphonse Areola permanent from PSG and landing midfielder Flynn Downes from Swansea City.
