Inter Milan at the top of the Serie A standings, Inzaghi: Our job is not finished

Inter are one point ahead of Milan and both have played 33 games.

MILAN -- Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi doesn't want his team to be too happy after topping the Italian Serie A standings. The Nerazzurri shifted AC Milan from the top of the standings, after beating AS Roma 3-1, Sunday (24/4/2022) early morning WIB.

Inter are one point ahead of Milan and both have played 33 games. However the Rossoneri will visit Lazio on Monday (25/4) CET, while Inter will have the match in hand against Bologna in the middle of next week.

Inzaghi said he was proud of the concentration of his players. Because, three days ago he was worried, especially after the derby in the Coppa Italia. That's why Inter need performances of the highest level and that is shown by Lautaro Martinez et al.

“The players recovered quickly from the Coppa Italia and it was their fifth win in a row. But still haven't won anything. We still have a midweek schedule against Bologna, it still has to be finalized,'' said Inzaghi, quoted from Football-Italy , Sunday (24/4).

Inzaghi said his team needed to get a balance, especially from the physical and psychological aspects. Moreover, Inter qualified for the Coppa Italia final and will face Juventus. Inzaghi wants Inter's players to go through the remainder of the game with their heads held high and confident.

''We need a win at this time. I said that the match came on time because the result is yet to be seen even though the performance is still strong,'' explained Inzaghi.
