Jamaica U20s international wonderkid forward Dujuan Richards agreed to join Chelsea on pre-contract agreement..

Sky Sports' renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, brought exclusive news on Sunday that Chelsea has signed Jamaica U20s international wonderkid forward Dujuan Richards from the country's Phoenix All Stars Football Academy on a pre-contract agreement.

According to Romano, Richards will formally join Chelsea when he turns 18. Details of the transfer fee and contract length were not disclosed.

After Romano reported news, Phoenix All Stars Football Academy's chairperson Craig Butler also confirmed the matter. Butler wrote through his official Instagram personal social account that: "History has been created. Phoenix All Stars Football Academy is proud to announce that Dujuan (Whisper) Richards, who has been with us since the age of 12, has signed his contract with England's Chelsea Football Club on a pre-contract agreement and will join and play for their squad in the Premier League."

"It's been a long road and it makes us incredibly proud of his loyalty and undying belief in me and the Phoenix organization. We are grateful to Chelsea Football Club and look forward to creating an ongoing partnership with our academy with them as we developing and preparing Whisper for the Premier League."

The Phoenix All Stars Football Academy is one of the most famous local youth football academies in Jamaica. Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey also played in this football academy before being scouted by Leverkusen in his early years.

Richards, who is only 17 years old, nicknamed Whisper, is born on November 10, 2005 in Kingston, the capital of Jamaica. He is 1.91 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but he can also play as a winger or attacking midfielder.

Richards joined the Phoenix All Stars Football Academy when he was 12 years old. After finishing high school last year, he successfully enrolled in Kingston College and is also a member of the college's football team.

He is very talented for such a young age. He has been representing Jamaica's youth national teams at all levels for many years. He has scored multiple hat-tricks in Jamaican College Football League last year. In October last year, he even scored 4 goals to help Kingston College beat their opponents 9-0 in one of Jamaican College Football League.

It is worth mentioning that Richards went to Newcastle United for trial at the end of last year during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The Magpies were interested in signing him since then, but after multiple persuasion of Richards from Chelsea's Co-Director of Recruitment and Talent, Richards eventually chose to join the Blues.

Last year alone, Richards played only 18 times for Kingston College in the Jamaican College Football League, but went on to score 30 goals and assisted 18 times at terrifying rate.
