Jurgen Klopp doesn't want to think about the title race with City
2022-03-19 10:31JAKARTA -- Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp admits he doesn't want to think about competing with Manchester City for the Premier League title this season. The Reds are now only one point away from City who are at the top of the standings with nine matches remaining after beating Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium, Thursday (17/3/2022) early morning WIB.
"I really don't think too much about City, that's the truth," Klopp said .
He said the only chance he had was to win as many football matches as he had left. Because City have won an incredible number of league games.
"The last few years, we have pushed each other to a crazy level. It makes every game more difficult, you can enjoy it but you have to be ready for the intensity," Klopp said.
According to Klopp, it is okay for his players to focus on a different game every three days. But what then becomes a problem is physical disturbance.
Klopp insists his team will prepare in the best possible way against City in the next three or four weeks.
"We will give them a proper fight but other than that we are in a good moment, in a good mood. We know the only way we can do that is to dig very deep," Klopp said of the tough challenges ahead, especially when serving City later.
Liverpool were a little under pressure from Arsenal in the first half. But the Reds eventually turned things around with second-half goals by Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.
Klopp did not complain about the tight schedule of his team's matches. According to him, the victory over Arsenal is a rhythm that was formed by his team, not just a momentary momentum.
“We keep traveling, we go here, we go there. I'm not complaining, we're not complaining, that's how we are. You wake up in a different hotel and someone tells you where the restaurant is and you try to remember your room number.
