Juventus not trying to terminate Pogba, says CFO

Juventus are not trying to terminate the contract of injury-plagued midfielder Paul Pogba, Juventus chief football officer Francesco Calvo said on Thursday, assuring that the club expects him to return to full fitness.

The French World Cup winner returns to Juventus in July 2022 after leaving Manchester United , playing just under 40 minutes , coming off the bench against Torino and Roma in Serie A.

" He's the first to be unhappy with this year and the recent injuries, " Calvo told Sky Sports ahead of Juventus' Europa League clash in Freiburg.

" When it comes to great players, everything gets highlighted, good or bad. I've read the headlines that Juventus want to sell him. Absolutely not. "

" He came here at 19 and it's a family for him, but we're a family that asks a lot. We want him back as soon as possible. "

"We believe in Pogba a lot"

Pogba , 30 , first joined Juventus in 2012 and won four Serie A titles and two Coppa Italia titles before joining Manchester United after the 2015-16 season.

" We believe in Pogba a lot, otherwise we wouldn't have signed a four-year contract, " Calvo added.

"We're as sorry as he is, we talk to the players every day and he knows we're not happy with the situation, just like he is."
