Kemenpora Helps PSSI in Lobbying for League 1 Licensing

PSSI has sent a letter requesting permission to the Police Headquarters for the League 1 competition

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) is helping the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) to smoothen the licensing of the 2021 national football competition.

The Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports, Zainudin Amali, said that his party together with PSSI had sent a letter of request for permission to the National Police Headquarters to re-launch the competition which had been suspended since March 2020.

"Earlier that (PSSI) reported to us globally that they still hope to get permission (from the police)," Zainudin said in a virtual press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday (2/2).

Zainudin ensured that the health protocol would be strictly enforced during the rolling competition. However, his party and PSSI have not been able to announce the planned 2021 season contestation time.

On the other hand, said Zainudin, his party will help PSSI to lobby the police so that permits can be issued immediately. Prior to that, Kemenpora will coordinate within the ministry's internal.

"But we haven't talked in detail. Internally, we will meet again after receiving a report from PSSI. I will try to communicate with the police," said Zainudin.
