Khazri leads Tunisia World Cup 26-man roster, 19-year-old Mejbri is also called up


The final 26-man squad for the 2022 Qatar World Cup in Tunisia has been revealed. Montpellier striker Khazri leads the lineup, Cologne midfielder Skhiri and 19-year-old Mejbri, who was loaned to Birmingham by Manchester United, are also included.


It is worth mentioning that Tunisia is the third team to recruit four goalkeepers after the Netherlands and Iran. The decision by manager Jalil Kadri sparked strong opposition, especially after 38-year-old goalkeeper and former captain Aymen Mathlouthi was called up after a two-year hiatus.


The 19-year-old midfielder Mejbri, who is currently on loan to Birmingham by Manchester United, is on the list as the biggest surprise in the list. Mejbri has played 19 Premier League games for Birmingham this season, providing 2 assists.
