Klopp asks Liverpool players to help Darwin Nunez more

Nunez looks frustrated as Liverpool lose 1-0 to RB Salzburg

LIVERPOOL -- Jurgen Klopp said that Liverpool should get used to playing alongside Darwin Nunez.

This was conveyed by Klopp to dismiss the concerns and doubts of the players who had just been bought by the Reds. Nunez looked frustrated when Liverpool lost 1-0 to RB Salzburg in the continuation of their pre-season tour of Austria.

The former Benfica man was impressive in the first half but was not effective, with his efforts either hitting the crossbar, being blocked or saved by the goalkeeper.

But he was too often locked up by opposing players. Klopp also asked his team to start playing with the strength of the Uruguayan.

According to Klopp, Nunez made the difference in the second half which made Liverpool much stronger.

''We saw today did not play well in the first half. But if there is a difficult situation, it is Darwin and the support he gets," Klopp explained, quoted from Liverpoolecho, Thursday (28/7).

The German coach explained that Nunez was often alone in the penalty box, where his team-mates played wide.

Because of that, the former Borussia Dortmund coach thinks Nunez needs more support around him, and keeps opponents busy so they don't just focus on him.
