Klopp was surprised that Cristiano Ronaldo didn't get a red card
2021-10-26 12:37 LIVERPOOL - Liverpool coach, Juergen Klopp, admitted that he was surprised that Cristiano Ronaldo did not get a red card when facing his team in the ninth week of the English Premier League, Sunday (24/10) night WIB. MU, who lost five goals without reply, was marred by the attitude of Ronaldo who deliberately kicked at the fallen Curtis Jones.
Even though in the video replays of Ronaldo kicking the ball, his attitude resulted in a yellow card.
But in Klopp's view, Ronaldo's gesture should get a red card because it is considered rude. Klopp did not expect the referee to only reward the 36-year-old player with a yellow card.
"I certainly saw it, it looked like a red card violation. But I was told that Ronaldo's foot hit the ball," said Klopp as reported by Tribalfootball , Monday (25/10).
Although hoping for Ronaldo to get a red card, the former Borussia Dortmund coach accepted the referee's unanimous decision. He was satisfied to see Liverpool's big win against their eternal rivals at Old Trafford.
"I don't want Cristiano to get a red card. In my eyes it was a red card but I was told it wasn't like that. Everything is fine," Klopp explained.
