The news of Suarez's return to Nacional has been eagerly awaited by fans. Around 20,000 Nacional fans wore Suarez masks in a recent match after his club was linked with El Pistolero, Suarez's nickname.
Suarez made his professional debut with Nacional at the age of 18 in 2005. At that time, Suarez helped Nacional win the Uruguayan League title. After that his talent began to be monitored by European clubs and finally moved to Groningen the following season.
"First of all I want to thank you for the great love shown to me and my family in the last few days," Suarez said .
Suarez insists it is impossible to refuse to return to Nacional. The former Barcelona star admitted that he had an initial agreement with the club.
Suarez is one of the sharp and deadly strikers in front of the opponent's goal. During his adventures in Europe he has won almost all the prestigious trophies with the clubs he defended ranging from the Champions League to the Spanish La Liga. His greatest success was in Barcelona's uniform.
