Madrid tak Khawatir Negosiasi Kontrak Sergio Ramos Buntu

Real Madrid said Ramos' absence was due to a knee problem.

JAKARTA - Real Madrid assistant coach David Bettoni emphasized that the club is not worried about Sergio Ramos' future, even though negotiations for his contract extension have reached a dead end.

The Real captain's contract expires this summer, but Bettoni has denied claims of concerns over Ramos' commitment.

"I see Sergio every day, and I can honestly tell you that I am not worried at all about (his contract)," Bettonid told a press conference that was held when coach Zidane was absent due to isolation after testing positive for Covid-19 on Friday ( 29/1).

The French assistant coach also denied Ramos' recent absence was due to disputes between the player and the club.

Real Madrid said Ramos' absence was due to a knee problem. The 34-year-old defender has missed his team's last two matches and also hosts Levante on Saturday night CET.

"As I said earlier, he (Ramos) is recovering. He's our captain and a great professional, but we will not take any risks with him, I can not say more than that," says Bettoni quoted by Reuters.

"He is getting better, but as I said, we are not going to take any chances and we are lucky that at the moment we only have one game per week and we will see how he looks towards next week," he added.

Real are currently second in the La Liga standings. Los Blancos are seven points behind leaders Atletico Madrid having played more than their city rivals.
