Martial will be absent from strengthening MU vs Brighton
2022-08-05 12:35MANCHESTER -- Manchester United (MU) was forced to lose Antony Martial on the opening weekend of the 2022/2023 English Premier League against Brighton and Hove Albion this weekend.
Martial returned to the Theater of Dream earlier this summer after his loan spell with Sevilla ended. The player is said to be included in the plans of coach Erik Ten Hag.
The certainty was obtained after the French footballer appeared shiny by scoring three goals in four matches of MU's pre-season tour. Moreover, rumors about the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo continue to blow.
But the bad news came ahead of the Premier League kick off against Brighton at Old Trafford Stadium. Reported by The Athletic , Thursday (4/8/2022) Martial is absent due to a hamstring injury.
Problems with the hamstring of the former AS Monaco player occurred during the friendly match between Manchester United and Atletico Madrid last weekend.
It is not yet known how long the 26-year-old footballer will be out of the Red Devils squad. But the 20-time Premier League champion believes Martial will soon be available when they meet Brentford and Liverpool on August 22.
