Monza coach Palladino is determined to stay until 2024 due to his ability to avoid relegation

On Friday, the 39-year-old Monza coach Raffaele Palladino confirmed his stay. His contract will be extended from 2023 to June 30, 2024.

"In his first season in charge of Serie A, Palladino led us to an extraordinary achievement - to achieve the goal of relegation six rounds ahead of schedule," Monza said in a statement.

"Wish Raffaele and all his staff the best of luck for the new season!"

Raffaele Palladino played for Benevento, Juventus, Salernitana, Livorno, Genoa, Parma, Crotone, Spezia and Monza in the national professional league until September 2019 announced his retirement. Just one month later, Palladino returned to Monza, his last club, as U15 coach, before being promoted to U19 coach.

In September 2022, Palladino replaced Giovanni Stropa as first-team coach, who was dismissed by Galliani due to his six-game winless start to the season. At the end of the season, under his leadership, Monza had a record of 14 wins, 9 draws and 8 losses, ranking 10th in the league with 52 points. They are about to usher in the final round of the 2022/23 Serie A season.
