Morata left the game in tears after falling before half-time

Atletico Madrid's Alvaro Morata burst into tears after falling down just before half-time as the Red and White lost 0-1 to Sevilla.

The few Atletico fans who attended the Ramon Sánchez Pizjuan Stadium expressed concern over Morata's knee injury. Initially, the injury did not appear to be serious, but after the medical team arrived to treat the striker, it became clear that he was unable to continue and had to leave the field in tears.

The game ended with Sevilla taking all three points, while the Red and Whites failed to close the gap with third-placed Barcelona. Diego Simeone's side are now fourth, just three points adrift of third-placed Athletic Bilbao. However, Morata's absence could be a big loss as the striker has been in fine form so far this season, scoring 18 goals in all competitions.

For Atletico Madrid fans, it was a good sign that Morata was spotted walking out of the stadium. Luckily the striker was not using crutches but he was seen limping as he left.

Atletico boss Diego Simeone will immediately turn his attention to next weekend's game against Las Palmas and he hopes to get some clarity on Morata from the medical team ahead of the game on Saturday, February 17. Positive news.
