Nantes sign Metz defender Sentonze on contract until June 2027

The Ligue 1 Nantes Club officially announced that it has signed Fabien Centonze from Metz (Ligue 2) on a new contract until June 2027.

According to several French media reports, Centonze's transfer fee is 4 million euros.

"It is with great joy that I announce that I have come to Nantes," Centonze said excitedly on his social media, expressing his longing for his future in Nantes. "I'm already looking forward to a new challenge! Thank you all for your comments and trust, I will live up to my expectations!"

Fabien Centonze, 26, plays as a right-back and is a member of the Thonon youth academy. On July 31, 2015, Centonze completed his debut as the main force, and finally assisted Thonon in a 0-0 draw with his opponent. From 2016 to 2022, Centonze played for Clermont, Lens, and Metz successively. So far, he has played 230 times, scored 11 goals, and provided 14 assists.

Last season, Centonze had a good start with Metz - scoring 4 goals and delivering 1 assist in 19 league games, but unexpectedly missed the rest of the game due to a muscle tear. With a key player missing, Metz was eventually relegated from Ligue 1 in 19th place. This summer, they received inquiries or offers from Rennes, Nice, Nantes, Lyon, Schalke 04, Villarreal, and Atletico Madrid, and Nantes stood out with the highest transfer price.
