LONDON - It seems like Premier League giants Arsenal look set into being forced to wait until the summer for the chance to land Norwich City's star midfielder Emi Buendia.

Buendia, aged 24, who had scored seven goals from 20 Championship appearances this term, while also providing seven assist, has been a key player in the attack for the Canaries this term who currently leads the Sky Bet Championship at the half-way point of the season and are in good shape to book an instant promotion back to the Premier League following relegation last season.

However according to Goal, as Norwich is unwilling to budge on their £40million valuation for the Argentine, the Gunners is said to be put off from making a move this month although they are likely to plan a swoop in the summer. The lofty valuation emphasized Canaries' determination of not wanting to do any business in a season that could see them return to the riches of the top flight.

The report also claimed thatwhile Buendia is in favour of a move to the Emirates Stadium, he is ready to accept staying at Carrow Road until at least the end of the season.

Likewise, Canaries boss Daniel Farke has also insisted that Buendia will stay with the club, calling a move to the Emirates this month senseless. The news will certainly come as a huge blow for Arsenal, who severely lacked creativity during the first-half of this campaign, as they look to bolster their attacking option following the departure of influential German playmaker Mesut Özil who has joined Turkish Süper Lig club Fenerbahçe on a free transfer after his contract has been mutually terminated, as well as their failed pursuit for Ligue 1 giants' Olympique Lyonnais' French sensation Houssem Aouar.
