Nottingham Forest and Palmeiras reportedly reached agreement on principle over the transfer of Brazil international attacking midfielder Gustavo Scarpa..



Sky Sports' renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, quoted sources from local Brazilian media Gazeta on Thursday that Nottingham Forest had reached an agreement in principle with Palmeiras over the transfer of Brazil international attacking midfielder Gustavo Scarpa.


According to Romano, Scarpa has already agreed a three-and-half-year deal which runs until the summer of 2026 in advance with the club, and he will officially fly to Nottingham after the winter transfer window opens on January 1 and will be able to officially join his new side, Nottingham Forest after completing his medicals.


In addition, according to Gazeta, since the 2022 season of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A has ended, Scarpa has already started looking for a house in Nottingham, and even brought his family and children to visit the area in advance.


The 28-year-old Scarpa was born on January 5, 1994 in the small town of Hortalandia, Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is 1.76 meters tall. Scarpa played for the Santos youth academy he was young, but transferred to the Fluminense youth academy in 2013.


Scarpa completed his first team debut in June 2014. In December of the same year, he played for Red Bull Salzburg, Leipzig, New York, Ghana and their many other sister teams, Red Bull Bragantino's reserve team on loan for half a season.


After returning to the club from loan in May 2015, Scarpa gradually gained established himself in the Fluminense first team, and even won the Copa Primeira Liga Rio de Janeiro with the club in 2016.


In January 2018, due to wage dispute with the club, Scarpa went to court to terminate his contract with the club and joined the powerhouse Palmeiras as a free agent.


Since joining, Scarpa has played 211 times for Palmeiras in all competitions, scoring 37 goals and assisting 51 times, winning 2 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A titles, 2 Campeonta Paulista titles, 2 Copa Libertadores titles, 1 Copa do Brasil title and 1 Recopa Sudamericana with the club.


This season alone, Scarpa has played 58 times for Palmeiras in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and assisting 15 times.


Internationally, Scarpa represented the Brazil senior national team in an international friendly match against Colombia in January 2017, but has not been called up since then.
