During his loan spell with the Red Devils, Ighalo enjoyed a good reserve position. The reason is, every time he was assigned by coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer he made changes. He was recorded to appear 23 matches and scored five goals and one assist for MU.

Now he has officially moved permanently to Al Shabab by agreeing a two and a half year contract. Despite interest from other clubs, he chose to solidify his choice to the six-time Arab Pro League champions.

Al Shabab is seen as showing commitment and ambition to recruit him. This was conveyed by Ighalo's representatives to BBC Sports Africa.
