Official: Blind terminates contract with Ajax early

There is still half a year before the contract expires, but Dutch defender Daley Blind terminated his contract with Ajax early.

"In recent days we have reached an agreement with Daley to end the contract that is still in progress. I hope he can continue his successful football career at another club," chief executive van der Sar told state media.

"We have reached an agreement with Daley, we will jointly decide which game he will play, and say goodbye to the fans in a beautiful way."

Blind mainly serves as a left-back and was born in the youth training of Ajax. In July 2018, Blind joined Ajax for the second time. So far, he has played 269 times in total, scored 10 goals and provided 13 assists for his home team. He spent 4 years in Amsterdam and has 6 titles including 3 Eredivisie titles, 2 Dutch Cups and 1 Johan Cruyff Shield.

There are multiple indications that Blind is expected to move to Belgian First Division A for Antwerp. Antwerp is currently ranked third in the league with 11 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses with 36 points, still 10 points behind Genk.
