Official: Leicester City midfielder Tielemans confirms departure this summer
2023-06-01 13:48After Leicester City's relegation from the Premier League, 26-year-old Youri Tielemans confirmed that he will leave the team this summer after four years of service. "After four and a half special years, I am grateful to say goodbye to such an incredible club," he said via video.
Later, Tielemans thanked all Leicester City people one by one: "From the first day I set foot on this land, your warmth and enthusiasm surrounded me firmly. Victory and triumph, love and hope, even failure . We have shared so many special moments together. I am forever grateful for your unwavering support."
"Thank you Mr Khun Top, board, staff, players and fans for giving me and my family a home. This is not a short goodbye but a heartfelt farewell. I will do so with pride, love and eternal gratitude .”
Youri Tielemans is a central midfielder, and can also play as a midfielder or midfielder. He played for Anderlecht in his home country and Monaco in France before finally joining Leicester City on a rent-to-buy basis in 2019.
In the past 4 years, the Belgian has played a total of 195 times and participated in 54 goals (28 goals, 26 assists). He won the first FA Cup championship for Leicester City, and also the second Community Shield Championship in team history.
It is still unclear where Tielemans will end up this summer. The player himself is eager to play for a team qualified for the Champions League, and many rumors link his name with Arsenal, Newcastle United, Roma, AC Milan, Juventus, Bayern Munich and other clubs.
