OFFICIAL: Teddy Boulhendi extends Teddy Boulhendi's contract with Nice until 2025


Nice extended Teddy Boulhendi's contract by one year on Tuesday.


Boulhendi's current contract expires in June 2024. Through this contract extension, Nice successfully kept the Algerian until 2025.


Teddy Boulhendi is 1.85 meters tall and is mainly a goalkeeper. He joined Nice for youth training at the age of 15 and was promoted to the first team three years later. Today, Boulhendi has become the third goalkeeper after Kasper Schmeichel and Marcin Bulka, but has never represented Nice in Ligue 1 .


Nice management's praise for Boulhendi

Although Boulhendi has not yet completed his professional debut, Nice sports director Florent Ghisolfi still speaks highly of him. He told the official media: "Teddy is a goalkeeper with both excellent qualities and huge room for improvement. He is young and has great potential. He works hard every day, and the contract renewal is the result of his hard work."


"He knows exactly what future we want together. We are counting on him, now and in the future," concluded Ghisolfi.


"His role in the locker room is also crucial," Nice general manager Fabrice Bocquet later gave his opinion. "He is a role model for our young players as a graduate. He knows the club inside out and communicates our values in a natural and fresh way. I am delighted that our journey together continues."


"Beautiful Love Story"

Talking about the renewal, Teddy Boulhendi described it as a "beautiful love story". "I hope our story can continue for a long time," he told state media. "I would also like to make my professional debut in Nice, where I will spend the 10-year mark."


The Algerian later added that he agrees with Nice's project and atmosphere: "I am very happy and proud that the management has shown confidence in me. It is not easy to be the third goalkeeper, but the club's confidence in me motivates me Stayed. Nice and I have big ambitions and I agree 100% with this project."


"We're a 'friends team', even outside of football. It's important. I try to connect people together. The goalkeepers are like brothers. Me and Nico (the goalkeeping coach), Kasper, Marl Chin gets along really well. I think we complement each other at work. There's a rivalry on the court, but we try to interact with each other as much as possible. I think I'm as good to them as they are to me."
