Official: The 19th FIFA Club World Cup will be held in Morocco

FIFA announced on Friday that the 2022 Club World Cup will be held in Morocco from February 1-11, 2023.

Morocco has experienced twists and turns in hosting the 19th World Cup: Affected by the epidemic and the World Cup, FIFA once favored Qatar as the host, and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates also has a certain chance. However, due to the outstanding performance of the Moroccan team in this World Cup, FIFA finally arranged for Morocco to host next year's Club World Cup after 2013 and 2014.

The 19th FIFA Club World Cup will still maintain the existing competition system-the champions of the six continental associations will compete with the league champions of the host country. The participating teams are the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League winner Real Madrid, the 2022 South American Copa Libertadores champion Flamengo, the 2022 CONCACAF Champions League champion Sounders FC, the 2022 OFC Champions League champion Auckland City, and the 2022 CAF Champions League champion and runner-up Wydad Casablanca with Al Ahly SC. Among the seven teams, only the champion of the AFC Champions League has not yet been announced due to the postponement of the schedule.
