Popular online game Ragnarök Online to release a new collaborative mobile game with Japanese hit Tokusatsu series Ultraman..

Popular Korean online game Ragnarök Online announced on its official website on Tuesday that the game will launch a new joint collaborative mobile game Ragnarök X: New Generation with the popular Japanese Tokusatsu TV series Ultraman.

According to the game's official statement, players can go to the official website of Ragnarök X: New Generation to pre-register an account as well as download the game and participate in the beta test of this joint mobile game. Among them, 3 lucky test players will be able to receive a S.H. Figuarts Commemorative Ultraman Figurine worth 770 Chinese Yuan, produced by Ultraman's production company Tsuburaya Productions and Bandai Namco.

According to the game's introduction on the official website of Ragnarök X: New Generation, this massively multiplayer online role-playing (MMORPG) mobile game will not only retain the original Norse mythology setting of Ragnarök Online  where adventurers set to travel in order to find the Heart of Ymir, that is believed to be able to help restore peace as the peace of the human civilized world is threatened, in addition, a special mode that was previously seen in the ULTRAMAN Season 2 anime series which broadcasted on video streaming platform Netflix will also be included and presented.

Just like in the animation, in this special mode which is known as The Challenge of Light, the game world Midgard will be attacked by giant robot monster, Golden Fortress under the command of Alien Pedant. In times of despair, players can use hidden ability of Heart of Ymir to summon Ultraman Taro to help maintain peace in the game world.

In addition to Golden Fortress and the Alient Pedant, players and Ultraman Taro will also encounter another monster, in the form of Alien Adacic. After defeating the aforementioned three monsters, players will be able to receive game cards of Alien Pedant, Golden Fortress, and Alient Adacic, which they can use with the special skills of the corresponding monsters to assist themselves in subsequent quests.

At the same time, players will also be able to meet NPC characters who were disguises of Ultraman and Ultraman Seven in the game. Not only that, the game will also introduce players to a brand new quest boss, the Fallen Bishop.

Ragnarök Online is a renowned online game produced and released by South Korea's Gravity and officially launched on August 31, 2002. After the game was released, it became popular all over the world immediately, and even had spin-offs and other related works such as animes, animated movies, as well as a sequel Ragnarök Online 2: Legend of the Second.

It is reported that Ragnarök X: New Generation has started production and development in 2017, and in order to break into the mobile game industry, Gravity even has an unprecedented partnership with the popular Chinese short video platform TikTok's company, ByteDance to launch a transnational collaboration.

In order to honour this cooperation, ByteDance also established a subsidiary Nuverse in 2019 that specializes in R&D, production, distribution and agency of mobile games.

Ultraman is a series of sci-fi-themed Tokusatsu TV series created by Tsuburaya Productions, which was founded by Eiji Tsuburaya, the former Japanese stunt director of Toho, who was also known as the God of Tokusatsu since the 1960s. Known as Salted Egg Superman in Hong Kong, the series later also had spin-off works such as movies, comics, games, figurines, and stage shows.

The stories of the Ultraman series mainly revolve around a man from the Earth Defense Team fusing with the warrior of light, Ultraman from planet M78 Ultraman and battle against monsters, aliens, Terrible Monsters, evil Ultraman, Radical Destruction Bringer and many more to fight and maintain the peace of the world and the universe.

Ultraman's signature finisher is the Spacium Beam, and because of the story setting, all Ultramen have the disadvantage of having their energy exhausted within 3 minutes while battling on Earth.

Since the launch of the first series in 1966, Tsuburaya Productions has since made hundreds sequels of the series. Its new series Ultraman Decker had just finished its global simultaneous premiere on Japan's TV Asahi and Youtube not long ago. Its film version Ultraman Decker Finale: Journey to Beyond is currently being screened in theaters across Japan.

It is worth mentioning that, because the son of Eiji Tsuburaya, Noboru Tsuburaya had been involved in a multi-year lawsuit with Thai director Sompote Saengduenchai over overseas copyright issues of the Ultraman series, which led to Tsuburaya Productions falling into deep financial crisis, the company was jointly acquired by the popular Japanese toy manufacturer Bandai Namco together with advertising company TYO in 2007. Since being acquired by Bandai Namco, Tsuburaya Productions and its SH Figuarts Ultraman Figurine series have been enthusiastically sought after by figurine collectors around the world.
