PSIM Yogyakarta's Opportunity to Enter the Big 8 of League 2 Is Getting Smaller
2021-11-05 17:38 SOLO -- The first match in the second round of Group CLiga 2 for the 2021/2022 season between PSIM Yogyakarta and PSCS Cilacap at the Manahan Stadium in Solo, Central Java, Tuesday (2/11) afternoon, ended in a 1-1 draw. With these results, PSIM's chances of getting into the top eight of Liga 2.
In the first half, PSCS scored a goal which was scored by Beny Ashar in the 23rd minute. PSIM replied to the goal in the 52nd minute which was scored by Muhammad Ilhamul Irhaz.
PSIM Yogyakarta head coach, Seto Nurdiyantoro, said that a 1-1 draw was not what his team wanted. However, personally, Seto remains grateful for the result because PSIM still gets one point.
"This means that our chances of qualifying for the top eight are getting smaller. But whatever it is we are trying our best to maximize the rest of the match. Even though it is very small, it is still there. We will try to focus on the concentration of each match," Seto said during a virtual press conference after the match.
Seto explained, in the first round his foster children could not appear independently, unlike the second round. Before the match started, the medical team conveyed several players who could not participate in the match. It slightly reduces the choice of players to be fielded.
"The match was quite tough to attack each other. Even though we missed the first half, the players' desire to attack appeared more in the second half," explained Seto.
Seto also apologized to PSIM supporters for not being able to provide maximum results. However, the players have tried their best. He hopes, in the future the players can appear more loose.
Meanwhile, one of the PSIM players, Sugeng Efendi, stated that the draw was still grateful. "In the future, we players will correct the mistakes that occurred in the match. And hopefully the next match will be given ease and we will work optimally," concluded Sugeng.
