PSIS coach believes his team will turn things around on Arema FC

The PSIS coach believes his team can turn things around in the second leg of the President's Cup Semifinals.

MALANG -- PSIS Semarang coach Sergi Aparecido Alexandre still has hope that his team can turn things around in the second leg of the Presidential Cup semifinal, at Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, East Java, Seni (11/7). The Mahesa Jenar team, nicknamed PSIS, lost 2-0 in the first leg so their struggle was very tough in Malang.

He explained that actually PSIS had many opportunities in the first leg. But his foster children could not make the opportunity a goal. While Arema managed to effectively make the opportunities fruitful goals. However, Sergio said PSIS had made careful preparations ahead of the second leg in the hope that the results would match expectations.

"PSIS's journey has not been completed, we can still try in the 2nd leg with a record of making a good organization, a good game, once again still believing that PSIS is not finished in the President's Cup," Sergio said at a press conference ahead of the match, Sunday (10/7).

Sergio came to Malang without the presence of key striker Carlos Fortes who injured his hamstring in the first leg. He also admitted losing a player like Fortes would be very detrimental. Therefore he encourages every player to have high confidence even without Fortes.

Sergio is also not afraid to be faced with the terror of the host supporters in Kanjuruhan. According to Sergio, the players are used to playing in thousands of opposing supporters. It's just that he emphasized that his players focus on the field without listening to the voices of the opposing supporters.

"The important thing is that everyone on the technical field must be focused, concentrated without listening to the opponent's singing which makes it worse," he emphasized.

PSIS defender Wahyu Prasetyo is determined that his team will come to Malang to win. The coach has provided tactical material for tomorrow's match. He revealed the situation of the players ahead of the game in good condition.

"Ahead of the match, the players focus again on winning in Kanjuruhan," said Wahyu.
