Robin van Persie: Arsenal have a plan against the Premier League
2023-03-28 14:03
Robin van Persie backed Arsenal's challenge to win over Manchester City and win the Premier League (EPL) for the first time since 2003-04 .
The Gunners enter the international table with an eight- point advantage, one game more than the defending champions under Pep Guardiola, with just 10 games remaining in the title race.
It's going to be a busy month for Arsenal throughout April , as well as their home game against Chelsea, they also have to travel to Liverpool and Manchester City, while Newcastle United wait in May .
Arsenal have failed to end their EPL trophy drought and the team's raw experience in the situation is a concern, but former captain Robin van Persie does not see this as a problem holding them back from success.
" Arsenal played well, they played tight. They played really well and it was worth watching, " he said after Rangers' storied game.
" They were very dynamic, defensive and smart attacking.
" It looked really good. They should have won the league in my opinion.
" Whatever their stance, it's still going to be difficult because City will certainly be putting pressure on Arsenal going into the final day.
" If you look at this period, that's where every point becomes very valuable. There were some tough games to play but they were able to get the three points in there and that's what makes a championship team.
" They've shown it, but the last game is always tough. It'll be fun to watch, but personally I think they'll execute and win the league. "
" It's been a while so I'd be happy if they win. "
