Roma Gets Wijnaldum Loan from PSG

Wijnaldum has often been linked with AS Roma and coach Jose Mourinho

ROME - Italian League club AS Roma have reached an agreement to sign Georginio Wijnaldum from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the player transfer market this summer.

According to the Italian Football page, Wednesday (3/8), AS Roma got Wijnaldum on loan with an option to buy at the end of the loan period next summer.

PSG actually wanted Wijnaldum's loan with a mandatory purchase, but AS Roma preferred to take the purchase option.

Wijnaldum has been close to landing in the Italian capital in recent weeks but has been stymied by a number of personal deals.

Since the middle of last month, Wijnaldum has been frequently linked with AS Roma and coach Jose Mourinho has contacted the 31-year-old to come to AS Roma.

Mourinho likes Wijnaldum and the Portuguese coach believes the midfielder will be the perfect piece in his tactical system with AS Roma.

Recent reports suggest Wijnaldum is desperate for a move to AS Roma. He first received a bonus from PSG and received a slight reduction in salary.

Wijnaldum still has one year left on his PSG contract who has no objections to releasing the former Newcastle player.

Wijnaldum joined PSG from Liverpool last season and appeared in 38 games, contributing three goals and three assists .
