Samir Handanovic says Lukaku's return to Inter won't come as a surprise
2022-07-22 21:07SAN SIRO--Inter Milan captain Samir Handanovic talks about Romelu Lukaku's return to Inter on loan from Chelsea.
Lukaku who left for Stamford Bridge last summer after offering the Scudetto to Inter. But his declining form made him return to the Giuseppe Meazza.
Handanovic admits it is not surprising that Lukaku will return because he has seen how he is at Chelsea. Handanovic has seen his famous interview about his feelings for Inter.
"You always have to know which dressing room you are going to and Rom knows that our dressing room is healthy, cheerful , positive," he said.
According to Handanovic it would be natural for a player to return to his old club if it made him happy. And Handanovic insists he never said anything to Lukaku to persuade him to return to Inter.
“Rather than me teasing him, he still gets mad if he misses a bit of a game! It's as if he never left, he's the same person he was before, then on the players, the pitch will speak," Handanovic added.
On that occasion the Slovenian goalkeeper emphasized that he did not want to lose Milan Skriniar, who was heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer. Handanovic also spoke about Onana's arrival.
Onana's arrival will make the competition in the goalkeeper position even tighter. Handanovic did not question his arrival. He actually considered his arrival would be good for the quality of the team. Handanovic claims he and Onana are different players.
"Without getting into the technicalities, there is a difference in approach in positioning, in the way of positioning in goal and saves. But also this diversity is good," he said.
