Simone Inzaghi Makes Sure Inter Are Ready To Compete For The Scudetto
2022-07-30 09:32JAKARTA -- Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has confirmed that his team is ready to compete for the Italian League Scudetto next season after failing to defend it last season. Quoted from Italian Football , Thursday (28/7/2022), last season Inter had to be willing to watch their city rivals AC Milan come out as champions of the Italian League with a two-point advantage in the final standings.
"We will try to win it this year knowing that we have rivals who want to do the same and who have improved. We have been working since July 6 with that target," said Inzaghi.
Inzaghi said, Inter will not carry out the mission of redemption from last season's failure. He wants his foster children to increase their achievements from before.
"We have done a great job repeating the season we had last. We did very, very well, we played beautiful football for a long part of the season, so I am very satisfied," explained Inzaghi.
Regarding the competition with AC Milan, the Italian coach explained that both teams have the same great strength. His team was better in the Coppa Italia, while the Rossonerri secured the Italian League.
"We saw last year, we met four times. Once we won, once they won and then there were two draws. In the League Cup we did better, they did great in the league because they did something extraordinary." Inzaghi said.
Last season, Inter won two titles, namely the Italian Super Cup and the Italian Cup, but failed to maintain the Scudetto after two points adrift of AC Milan who came out as champions of the Italian League. In the Champions League, Inzaghi with Inter was able to qualify from the group stage after finishing second in Group D behind Real Madrid. However, Inter ran aground in the round of 16 after losing 2-3 on aggregate to Liverpool.
