Sporting news: Man Utd's Varane misses World Cup, Ronaldo back in squad

Manager Eric Ten Haag announced on Wednesday that French defender Rafael Varane will be available for Manchester United after the World Cup , adding that forward Cristiano Ronaldo will be involved in their Europa League clash with Sheriff Tiraspol .

Centre-back Varane, 29 , looked distraught as he entered the tunnel at Stamford Bridge after suffering an ankle injury midway through the second half in Sunday 's 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
