Still Not Enough, Ten Hag Asks MU To Bring In More Players
2022-07-24 00:08MANCHESTER - Manchester United (MU) manager Erik ten Hag said his team still needed more player options for the upcoming campaign. To that end, Ten Hag urged the Red Devils management to immediately bring in new players.
"We brought in Eriksen for the midfield, so we are happy. I am also happy with the performance of our midfield and attacking line at this time," Ten Hag explained, quoted by Sportsmole , Friday (22/7).
The 20 Premier League champions have signed three new signings in the transfer market this summer, bringing in Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, and Lisandro Martinez.
Malacia has been involved in several games during United's pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia. While Eriksen also Lisandro Martinez will make his debut in the weekend friendly against Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano.
Now ahead of the Aston Villa contract party on Saturday local time, Ten Hag reiterated that the team nicknamed the Red Devils still need to improve the squad and deepen the players' material in order to compete in the 2022/2023 campaign.
"There are a lot of games and a busy schedule so we need more options where you have a good team, and it's not just about the team, you need a good squad to get results right at the end of the season."
Furthermore, the former Ajax Amsterdam player hopes that Eriksen and Martinez will soon join the team and can quickly integrate into the team.
As for MU is expected to bring a new goalkeeper to the Theater of Dream before the end of the mercato closed. Because, Dean Henderson officially lifted the suitcase to Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan.
On the other hand, MU is also still in pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong. Ten Hag is said to be eager to bring his former team back to work together at United.
