The 2024 Copa America group results are out: Argentina faces Chile, Brazil meets Colombia

At around 8:30 pm local time on December 7, the 2024 America's Cup group stage draw results were officially announced at the James L. Knight Center in Miami: defending champion Argentina , Peru and Chile are in Group A, while Brazil and Uruguay are in Group A respectively. Positioned in groups C and D.

The 2024 America's Cup is the 48th America's Cup since the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) was founded in 1916. However, this time the Central and North American and Caribbean Football Confederation (CONCACAF) also participated in co-organizing it. A total of 16 teams entered the finals of this tournament, including 10 South American teams and 6 Central and North American teams.

Under the auspices of FIFA President Infantino and CONMEBOL President Alejandro Domingos, Brazilian star Ronaldinho, Paraguayan star Roque Santa Cruz, and legendary Mexican goalkeeper Jorge Campos and Argentinian star Javier Zanetti were guests at the ceremony to draw their respective opponents for the 16 teams. The final grouping results are as follows:

Group A: Argentina, Peru, Chile, CONCACAF Nations League playoff winner (Canada or Trinidad and Tobago);

Group B: Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela, Jamaica;

Group C: United States, Uruguay , Panama, Bolivia;

Group D: Brazil , Colombia, Paraguay, CONCACAF Nations League playoff winner (Costa Rica or Honduras).

According to the plan, this America's Cup will be held in 14 cities in the United States from June 20 to July 14, 2024. Among them, the defending champion Argentina, led by Messi, will face the winner between Canada and Trinidad and Tobago in the opening game in Atlanta.

It is worth mentioning that since Argentina and Brazil belong to different halves, the two teams will not meet before the Copa America final. The same is true for Argentina and Uruguay. They have no possibility of playing against each other except for the finals next year.
