Thomas Tuchel Makes Erling Haaland a Priority Target

Chelsea needs a ferocious striker.

LONDON - Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel reportedly will make Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland a priority transfer target in the summer transfer window. Tuchel was confirmed to be the coach of the Blues shortly after Chelsea fired Frank Lampard.

Reporting from Sportsmole , Thursday (28/1), the 47-year-old coach is determined to bring a new striker to Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2021/2022 season campaign. And Haaland is seen as the number one target to be placed in the final third of the pitch.

The 20-year-old is in top form with Dortmund this season. He scored 21 goals in 19 appearances for the team in the Bundesliga. The Norwegian international has been chased by many of Europe's top clubs on several transfer windows occasions.

Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona are among the clubs to have his signature. However, due to the importance of Haaland in the Dortmund squad, he is unlikely to be released this summer. However, a number of clubs are still monitoring the progress.

Chelsea have spent more than Rp. 2 trillion to bring in some top players last summer. The hope is that the squad can compete on the Premier League stage. On the contrary, Chelsea's appearance did not develop.

They were knocked away from the top four. The club could not stand these conditions and was forced to fire Lampard. Tuchel's plan to recruit Haaland which is expected to cost a lot of money is a gamble for the German coach. Because Chelsea boss Roman Abramovich did not hesitate to fire the coach
