Tottenham boss Conte undergoes gallbladder removal after severe abdominal pain

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has had his gallbladder removed today after being taken to hospital with severe abdominal pain.

Tottenham Hotspur announced the news in a statement on Wednesday and sent their best wishes to Conte. "He will return after a period of rest. All wish him the best," the club said.

According to Tottenham's description, Conte suffers from gallbladder inflammation. The English media added that he is expected to need to rest for about 8 weeks.

According to the fixture schedule, Tottenham Hotspur face Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday, with matches against Leicester City (league), AC Milan (Champions League), West Ham United (league) and Chelsea (league) to follow this month.

It is understood that the team's daily affairs are currently in charge of Conte's assistant Cristian Stellini.

After the operation was completed, Conte immediately reported his situation through social media and thanked the fans for their concern.

"Thank you for your lovely messages," he wrote on Instagram. "My surgery is going well and I'm already feeling better. It's time to recover and I can't wait to get back on the field with the team."
