Indonesia won 9-0 from Singapore in the AFF U-16 group stage

SLEMAN -- The Indonesian U-16 national team crushed Singapore with a score of 9-0, Wednesday (3/8) night, which made the "Garuda Asia" squad temporarily lead the Group A standings of the 2022 AFF U-16 Cup surpassing Vietnam.

Indonesia's goals in the match which was held at the Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Yogyakarta, were scored by Muhammad Nabil Asyura (three goals), Muhammad Kafiatur Rizky (two goals), Mokhammad Hanif Ramadhan, Muhammad Riski Afrisal, Waliy Marifat and I Komang Ananta Krisna Son.

These results make Indonesia lead Group A because it has a goal difference (+11) more than Vietnam (+9) in second place even though they both have six points from two matches.

Meanwhile, Singapore remains at the bottom of the standings and the Philippines is in third place.

In that match, the coach of the Indonesian U-16 national team Bima Sakti still relied on 14-year-old striker Arkhan Kaka who was accompanied by Muhammad Nabil Asyura and Azzaky Esa Erlangga in front.

Down with a 4-3-3 formation when attacking and 4-1-4-1 when defending, Indonesia appeared to be pressing from the start of the match.

As a result, they took a quick lead in the second minute through the feet of Muhammad Nabil Asyura, who took advantage of Arkhan Kaka's bait.

After that, Indonesia seemed not to stop creating goal after goal. In the 17th minute Muhammad Nabil brought his second goal thanks to an assist from Azzaky Erlangga.

Three minutes later, Indonesia added to the coffers of goals via Mokhamad Rido Al Ikhsan who kicked the ball from outside the penalty box.

Leading three goals, the squad nicknamed Garuda Asia kept the distance through Muhammad Nabil Asyura's third goal in the match which made the score 4-0 in the 30th minute.

After that Muhammad Kafiatur Rizky scored two goals in just eight minutes, namely in the 35th and 43rd minutes which ensured Indonesia's 6-0 lead lasted until halftime.

After the break, Bima fielded several new players including Waliy Marifat and Figo Dennis Saputrananto.

Substitution of players did not relax the wave of Indonesian attacks. In the 56th minute, Muhammad Nabil's shot hit the crossbar.

Exactly three minutes later, Muhammad Riski Afrisal fired a hard kick just outside the line of the forbidden box that entered the goal of Singapore.

At 7-0, a Waliy Marifat movement in the box had to be stopped with a foul by Singapore defender Heng Wei Xien Marcus.

The referee also awarded a penalty kick for Indonesia which was executed perfectly by Waliy in the 80th minute.

A few seconds before the match ended, precisely in the 90+2 minute, Indonesia presented the ninth goal from I Komang Ananta Krisna's contribution. Indonesia also won with a score of 9-0.
