Wilfried Zaha: Crystal Palace's passage to the FA Cup semi-finals a sign of a bright future
2022-03-25 11:31LONDON -- Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha said his team's journey to the FA Cup semifinals was a sign of a bright future. The Eagles eliminated Everton 4-0 at Selhurst Park to take them against Chelsea in the semi-finals at Wembley Stadium next month.
"This just proves how good we are," Zaha said.
Zaha said, some players have not performed together for quite a long time. But the players did very well in the game.
The win shows the quality of Palace's players. Players who were recruited to join the old people made Palace have a bright future.
Zaha said he was happy to be involved in the win and went to Wembley against last season's Champions League champions Chelsea. Zaha claims Palace have had a rocky start.
However, slowly his team managed to get through these difficult times. "And finally apply our game to them," he explained.
Palace controlled possession over Everton with a statistical record of 53 percent compared to 47 percent. Patrick Viera's men also excel in shots on goal, which is six to two.
Marc Guehi opened Palace's advantage in the 25th minute. Jean-Philippe Mateta put Palace 2-0 up in the first half. Palace added two more goals in the second half to seal a 4-0 win through Zaha and Will Hughes.
In the Premier League, Palace sit in 12th position standings. A different position with Everton who now have to fight away from the relegation zone. The Toffes sit in 17th position and only three points clear of relegation zone side Watford.
